Welcome to our Class Wiki.

The goal of using this Media Wiki to use it as a sandbox to learn the mark up and skills required for collaborative ediiting. Our ultimate goal is to prepare the class to improve Wikipedia Stub articles

  1. Log in here with your campus ID
  2. Add your Full Name, Campus ID to the Group Section of this page at bottom
    1. You can work individually or in groups of 2-5

Our ultimate goal is to improve [[1]] articles. Your mark will improve as you move up the [Quality Scale] you can move up the scale by adding [reliable sources]

  1. Go to [Wikipedia] and create an account (if you don't already have one)
  2. Create a user page for yourself. You can put anything about yourself you like
  3. Go to Wikipedia and surf the list of [Stub] articles
  1. Decide which [Stub] article you will improve.
    1. Choose one that is interesting to your group
    2. Choose an article that you can find reliable resources (journal articles, books, etc)
  2. Before editing, visit the talk pages. Add a comment, tell them you are editing this stub for an assignment
    1. Speaking of which, have you visited the discussion page here? Do that now. Add a question or comment there.
  3. Add the URL to your Wikipedia article next to your group in the section below.

A good article has:

  • summary of the important aspects of the subject,
  • links to other articles,
  • list of publications that were used as sources in writing the article
