Welcome to our Class Wiki.
The goal of using this Media Wiki to use it as a sandbox to learn the mark up and skills required for collaborative ediiting.
Our ultimate goal is to improve Stub articles related to Culture.
- Log in here with your campus ID
- Add your Full Name, Campus ID to the Group Section of this page at bottom
- You can work individually or in groups of 2-5
Your mark will improve as you move up the Quality Scale you can move up the scale by adding reliable sources
- Go to Wikipedia and create an account (if you don't already have one)
- Create a user page for yourself both here and a Wikipedia UserPage
- Share a little (if anonymous) information about yourselves, your expectations of the course, this assignment, and such.
- Go to Wikipedia and surf the list of Culture articles
- Decide which Stub article you will improve.
- Choose one that is interesting to your group
- Choose an article that you can find reliable resources (journal articles, books, etc)
- Before editing, visit the talk pages. Add a comment, tell them you are editing this stub for an assignment
- Speaking of which, have you visited the discussion page here? Do that now. Add a question or comment there.
- Add the URL to your Wikipedia article next to your group in the section below.
Before we add anything to Wikipedia, we will work in this wiki to practice markup. A new page in this wiki, after you have chosen the Wikipedia article you would like to edit.
A good article has:
- summary of the important aspects of the subject,
- links to other articles,
- list of publications that were used as sources in writing the article
