Jake Gold (born April 4, 1958 in New Jersey) is an American-born Canadian musician manager. Gold grew up in Toronto, where he sang in Top 40 bands in his teens. From 1979 to 1981, he lived in Los Angeles, doing lighting design for the Variety Arts Centre. After receiving a call from a friend, he returned to Toronto to become a tour manager and lighting guy for Hot Tip. This started his successful career as a music manager and Canadian music industry promoter. [1] He is married to Leesa Butler, creator of the F-List, a web site dedicated to Canadian fashion.

Kindling Music
Jake Gold is the co-owner of Kindling Music. Kindling Music is an independent record label, based in Toronto, that is distributed by Warner Music Canada. It was under this label that Jake Gold transformed the Tragically Hip and made them a national icon in Canada. Under this label Jake Gold also "directs the careers of Sass Jordan, Lily Frost, Crash Karma, Adam Cohen, Sebastian and Oliver Pigott as well as music producers Moe Berg, Russell Broom, and Laurence Currie." This label provides marketing, publicity, promotion, tour support, and bookings for artists.[2]

Charitable Contributions
Jake Gold takes pride in charitable work, noting that one of his career highlights is raising almost $400,000 for War Child in September 2000. Additionally, he offered a free concert in Winnipeg in support of charity. He is known for pairing his love for music with his charitable efforts. He continues to contribute to various charities through his record labels he is involved with.[4]
Television Appearances
In addition to co-starring as a judge on Canadian Idol, Gold has also appeared on CTV's eTalk Daily as a guest commentator on several occasions. He has also made guest appearances on an episode of The Eleventh Hour and Corner Gas.[5]
