Permissions and roles

To complete the procedures in this article, you must be assigned a role having the necessary permissions. This often excludes Students and TAs by default. To determine your role, follow the directions in Participant roles.

How to move or copy an item in Resources tool:

  • In the menubar of the relevant worksite, click Resources.
  • Next to the item you wish to copy select Actions menu, click Move.
    • To move several items at a time, mark their corresponding checkboxes, and then, above the list of items, click Move.
  • Navigate to the location where you wish to move the file, and then click the "Paste copied items" icon Image:Page paste.gif.


  • To move the item to another site, please see Copy a single item from another sites resources.
  • To cancel the move, click the rest button The Sakai reset button allows you to go back within a Sakai tool.  It is often better to use this tool rather than your web browser's back button..
  • If you have linked to an item from another tool (e.g., Wiki or Podcasts), that link will no longer work when you move the item.
