Permissions and roles

To complete the procedures in this article, you must be assigned a role having the necessary permissions. This often excludes Students and TAs by default. To determine your role, follow the directions in Participant roles.

For a basic understanding of roles and permissions, see Permissions and roles.

In the Gradebook, there are several tables that you can sort in various ways. In any of these tables, simply click the column heading by which you want to sort the table. Subsequently clicking the same column heading will switch the sorting order between ascending and descending.

Note: The Gradebook currently does not use first names for sorting. If you have several students with the same last name, Gradebook will not sort those students properly based on their first names.

[edit] Gradebook Items Summary table

On the Gradebook Items page, you can sort the "Gradebook Items Summary" table by the following:

Title Class Avg Due Date Released to Students Included in Course Grade Category weight (if applicable) Grade editor tool (e.g., Gradebook, Assignments)

[edit] Grading table

On the Gradebook Item Summary page for a particular gradebook item, you can sort the "Grading Table" by the following:

Student Name Student ID Points (points earned on the gradebook item)

On the Course Grade summary page, you can sort the "Grading Table" by the following:

Student Name Student ID Points (overall course points earned) Course Grade (Gradebook autocalculated course grade) Grade Override (overridden course grade)

[edit] All Grades

On the All Grades page, you can sort the table by the following:

  • Student Name
  • Student ID (CAMPUS ID)
  • Course Grade (Gradebook autocalculated course grade)
  • Each Gradebook Item Name (sorted by points earned on the gradebook item)
