Update from UOIT

What’s new?

Dr. Bill Muirhead, formerly Associate Provost Teaching and Learning has taken on a new role as Associate Provost Academic with broader responsibilities for undergraduate education.

With funding from the province, this fall we launched a new online resource for math and writing, http://www.nool.ca. The site continues to expand in response to ongoing consultation with faculties about the specific needs for their students and student feedback and contributions.

We redeveloped our Teaching and Learning site at: http://teachingandlearning.uoit.ca/

In preparation for possible pandemic, we developed a new resource for our faculty members called Flexible Teaching, http://flexibleteaching.uoit.ca

Challenges

To improve the response rates for course evaluations/feedback that occur each term.

Up and coming in 2009/2010

Rollout of Teaching Certificate 2 for PhD students. This second unit focuses on aspects such as teaching philosophy, course planning and development and more theoretical aspects of teaching.
