University of Ottawa | Mark Gareau | CPS eInstruction RF Gen2 and Gen3 (Pulse) | Extremely pleased-over 1800+ users. The only problem we have had over the years has been this past year when there were ‘bugs’ in the software which created shutdowns, etc. It seems to have cleared up now with the software updates…We are also looking closely at their virtual clicker app that makes sense and is less costly to the student.

UOIT | Brad Carson | ResponseWare TurningPoint virtual clickers | So far the faculty response has been pretty positive, a way to get students engaged. We have a 500 seat license here at UOIT for the TurningPoint virtual clicker software, which was upped from a 350 seat license last year
University of Waterloo | Paul Kates | iClicker | Using for nearly three years now (i.e. it is the clicker supported by our IST). Faculty to the students to the bookstore (which actually sells it and buys back used ones from students) is very happy with it.
Wilfrid Laurier University | Sandy Hughes | iClicker | Yes - Have had demo of Top Hat Monacle, and might demo it.
Ryerson University | Restiani Andriati | CPS from eInstruction | The upside of this product is the many features it can deliver. The main downsides are the cost to our students and the complicated system. Yes, it's very rich-featured, but it's not easy to use for our instructors, and the learning curve is quite steep. In addition to the not-easy-to-use, before students can use them, they have to go through a rigid registration process. Although from an academic integrity perspective, this is preferred; at least it makes it harder for students to exchange clicker pads. However, once the semester is underway and all students are registered, the rest of the semester goes smoothly.
