Dates: August 7-9, 2013

Location: Brock University, 500 Glenridge Avenue. St. Catharines Ontario, Canada, see map

Registration: The cost of attendance at the OUCEL Summer Institute 2013 is $200.00 per person - this includes attendance at the full event and supper on the evening of the second day.

Accommodations:

Registration cost does not include accommodations. There are 20 single rooms ($65 per night) blocked for Ontario Universities’ Council on eLearning in our new on-campus residence buildings. To book your accommodations, contact [email protected] or telephone 905-688-5550x3369

Day 1: August 7, 1pm - 4pm

12-1pm: Lunch and registration

1-1:15pm: Welcome

1:15-2pm: “Lightning round” institutional updates

As a warmup and icebreaker activity, participants will share a short institutional update - focusing on one triumph and one challenge over the past year.

2-2:30pm: Cathy Newell Kelly, Ontario Universities Online - updata

2:30-3pm: OUO discussion

3-3:35pm: Tom Carey

3:45-4:30pm: Discussion

Evening: Dinner is not provided, but company will be - we can discuss options at the end of the day.

Day 2: August 8, 9am - 4pm

9:00-9:30: Breakfast and good mornings

9:30-10:30: Laurie Harrison, UofT Open Learning Initiative, including Coursera MOOC

11:00-12:00: Panel: Value Proposition of Blended Learning (UofO, Queen's, Western, UBC, Niagara College)

12-1: Lunch

1-2:30: LTi App Landscape

3:00-4: Visit Brock's Oeniculture & Viticulture Winery Lab

6pm: Dinner TBA

Day 3: August 9, 9am - 12pm

9-9:30: Breakfast and good mornings

9:30-11: 3D Printing in Higher Ed

11am-12pm: Showcase of Ontario University

    • Initiatives Interdisciplinary Health Template, Richard Pinet, University of Ottawa
    • Math Jax, Aldo Caputo, University of Waterloo

12pm: Lunch
