University of Windsor Lorie Stolarchuk Turning Technologies Have had some technical glitches for fall 2010, but support has been good Are in the exploring stages Darrel Laurendeau Not sure yet Home-built system Srabanti Chitte No, but links are created that can be embedded into LMS Not widely used, but available Approx. 16,000 FT/PT/Grad
OCAD Andrew McAllister
University of Toronto, OISE Laurie Harrison
Carleton University Patrick Lyons TurningPoint Mostly pleased. Some bugginess with software and cost a concern. Student cost per device $50. Support good. Looking into polleverywhere.com which is cheap, uses cell phone text messages and so far, works well.
University of Ottawa Mark Gareau CPS eInstruction RF Gen2 and Gen3 (Pulse) Extremely pleased-over 1800+ users. The only problem we have had over the years has been this past year when there were ‘bugs’ in the software which created shutdowns, etc. It seems to have cleared up now with the software updates…We are also looking closely at their virtual clicker app that makes sense and is less costly to the student. We also have Echo360 lecture capture on campus serving 23 installed classrooms as well as personal capture on MDS laptops. We have links to our Blackboard and, although at first it was slow to take off, it is finally being used by profs and other services.
Lakehead University Leslie Malcolm
Brock University Matt Clare Some ResponseWare TurningPoint , some Top Hat Monicle, whatever else publishers can sell instructors.. Some other small web-based projects.
Queen's University Nancy Owen Turning Technologies
Trent University Mary Jane Pilgrim
University of Guelph Richard Gorrie Supporting iClicker Using them for 3.5 years. ~4,000 in circulation. Faculty appreciate the ease of use. Some dissatisfaction with the five choice limit. Some faculty (4 or 5), are using Top Hat Monocle, an app for laptop, smartphone etc.
UOIT Brad Carson ResponseWare TurningPoint virtual clickers So far the faculty response has been pretty positive, a way to get students engaged. We have a 500 seat license here at UOIT for the TurningPoint virtual clicker software, which was upped from a 350 seat license last year
University of Waterloo Paul Kates iClicker Using for nearly three years now (i.e. it is the clicker supported by our IST). Faculty to the students to the bookstore (which actually sells it and buys back used ones from students) is very happy with it.
Wilfrid Laurier University Sandy Hughes iClicker Yes - Have had demo of Top Hat Monacle, and might demo it.
Ryerson University Restiani Andriati CPS eInstruction and i>clicker2 Easy-to-use is more important than rich-featured tool. Customized ePresence (now D2L Capture)
University of Western Ontario Kim Holland
Laurentian University Johanne Rioux iClickers
Nipissing University Kyle Charron
Dominican University College Francois Demers
Canadian Defence Academy, Royal Military College Mathieu Leblond
Algoma University Danny Reid
