Changes and Transformations
The Centre for University Teaching, one of four divisions of Teaching and Learning Support Services, has entered into a period of transformation. Christian Blanchette, whom many of you know, ended his term as Director of TLSS and moved to the Faculty of Education at the end of June. At that time the position was elevated to the level of Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) and is occupied since July 1 by Yves Herry, former Vice-Dean Research in the Faculty of Education. Reshaping and strengthening the Centre for University Teaching is one of the priorities of his mandate, so we look forward to substantial, but as yet undefined, changes in the coming months.
New Personnel
Robert Parson, Curriculum Design and Quality of Learning Specialist, arrived in January. His main responsibiity is to assist departments as they prepare for program evaluation and implementation of the OCAV-mandated learning expectations.
Nathaly Isabelle, Instructional Consultant (Educational Technologies), arrived a few weeks ago and will be working with departments and individual instructors on the pedagogically sound uses of educational technologies.
Change in accommodations
The building we occupy is to be demolished to make way for a new building, so as of February we will be moving for two years into temporary accommodations.
