Grandparents Caring for Their Grandchildren

Changes in family structure has led to the increasing amount of grandparents taking full responsibilty for caring for their grandchildren. Many grandparents take on the surrogate role of parents because of problems with the parent generation such as drug and alcohol abuse, financial issues, incarceration and health issues <Goodman,C., Tan, P., Erandes, P., & Silverstein, M., 2008>
