The WebCT URL Tool is a simple tool for adding one URL to WebCT CE 4. This tool is only found in versions of WebCT Campus Edition 4.1 and lower, not version 6 which has a multiple link management approach called Web Links.

Add URL Tool

Open your web browser and log into WebCT and your course area.

• Select "Add Page Our Tool" from the menu on the right.
• From this page select "URL"
• Enter a title for the link (ie. The title of the page you are linking to)
• Enter the URL you would like to add to WebCT, you can type is or copy and paste it from another browser window. You may also choose to have the link open in the same window as WebCT or a new one.
• Check-off where you want students to be able to click this link - 'Homepage' or the 'Navigation Bar'.
• WebCT will choose default settings for things like the icon type, setting the icon is something to explore once you are comfortable with WebCT.
• Click step 4, 'Add' to finalize everything.

You should now have a working link within WebCT.
