Syllabus

From WebCT Wiki

eleltgetcaac Adding a syllabus to your course space is a good idea becuase it ensures it is always there as a reference for students and instructors. Your syllabus is a contract between you and the students. Having an electronic copy can prevent you from becoming a photocopier.

[edit] Ways to add your syllabus

You can add your syllabus as a HTML or a PDF file. Making a HTML document requires no other software and loads quickly, but has trouble with images. PDF documents preserve your original formatting and protect your content. Your preference will depend on your experiences.

[edit] Converting your syllabus to a HTML file

Open Microsoft Word (or a similar Word Processor) and open your syllabus file.

  • Select from the File menu 'Save as Web Page' (or similar option from your Save As window that would allow you to save as HTML).
  • Give the file a descriptive name and save it in a location that you will be able to find later.

[edit] Converting your syllabus to a PDF file

Open Microsoft Word (or a similar Word Processor) and open your syllabus file.

  • Select from the 'File' menu 'Print'
  • Choose the PDF creator as your printer and print.
  • Give the file a descriptive name and save it in a location that you will be able to find later.
