Sakai comments
From WebCT Wiki
- The University of Michigan is working on birding iTunesU (Apple's university podcasting tool, available to some US Universities) and Sakai
- Here's another place to try out Sakai http://www.sakaitestdrive.com/
- So just a comment that you are being pretty fast and loose with the terms "IMS and SCORM compliant" and if these terms are actually meaningful to you, you may want to re-examine this. Of the systems you list, really only Moodle and D2L have good support for Scorm and IMS Content Packaging both on the way into the system and on the way out. WebCT and Blackboard are infamous for not providing compliant exports from their system. And Sakai as far as I know doesn't have support for stnadards compliant import and export of content, and least not extensively so. You may also want to disambiguate between IMS 'Content Packaging' support and IMS 'Enterprise' support, the latter dealing mostly with shiping student info/grades in and out of the system, the former focusing more specifically on learning content. Both can be important considerations but are different things.
