Java
From WebCT Wiki
Java is an object-oriented programming language developed by Sun Microsystems in the early 1990s. Java was started as a project called "Oak" by James Gosling, a Canadian, in June 1991.
Java is a platform independent technology that allows the same programs to run near identically on Macs, PCs, Linux, cell phones, etc. Because of this it is popular as a web technology and is used for a few key components of WebCT.
[edit] Fixing my Java to work with WebCT
In Windows, go to Start => Control Panel (sometimes in settings menu) => Add/Remove Programs and select and "Remove" everything JAVA or JRE.
Then download and install Java from http://java.com.
Here is a (three minute) Flash video demonstrating how to remove and re-install Java on Windowx XP: https://ctlet.brocku.ca/screencasts/Removing%20And%20Re-Installing%20Java.swf
