Assignments

Inside your WebCT course, go to the Build tab=>Manage Course=>Tools Select the check box for "Assignment Tool", scroll down and click, "Save"
You will now have an icon on the left menu, Assignments.
Click on this menu item. On the main page, click the button to "Create Assignment".
Enter a title for the Assignment, like "Take Home Exam" Enter in a description of the Assignment. This does not need to be filled in, but may be helpful for students if you provided some contextual information about what the take home exam is all about.
Enter Instructions, like "attach your assignment in Rich Text Format or PDF here".
Select the radio button for Text ((Students provide text, attach files, do both.) Assignment recipients, Select "all individually" unless it is a Groups assignment.
Enter in Due Date and Cut off date. The cut-off date can be 1 week later or the absolute latest date they may submit the assignment before they get zero (0).
You can add the due date to the calendar, if you have it activated, by selecting that check box.
If you want to provide unofficial mark feedback, either qualitative or quantitative, you can select, "Release grade to Students in My Grades". Please note that you need to have this tool turned on under build tab=>manage course=>tools.
Give the gradebook a column title, for example: "Final Exam"
Select your choice of mark, Numeric (enter total), Alphanumeric.
Under Options, you have a choice of whether you will "take back submissions" if you allow drafts & revisions.
Click "Save"
In your Assignment list, ensure that the assignment doesn't have (Hidden) next to it. If it does, click on the chevron (downward arrow) button and select "Show Item" from the context menu.
To see how this works from the student perspective, you can click on "Student View", go to Assignments and try to submit.
