[edit] Synopsis

The story starts off with Rajesh Parekh (Ritesh Deskmukh), a Gujrati boy who has been rejected by girls since he was born, who works with Bollywood Director Farah Khan (as herself) as an assistant director – clap boy. The country’s favourite new hero is Desh (Ruslaan Mumtaz), Akshay Kumar, Sajid Khan, Priyanka Chopra (as themselves) are no one in comparison to Desh. Rajesh falls in love with Natasha (Sonal Sehgal) as soon as he sees her, and it turns out that she is Desh’s sister. Natasha has just joined Farah Khan’s crew as an assistant director as well. Natasha and Rajesh setting up for a scene, enters Desh, and pats Rajesh’s shoulder, extremely happy that Desh noticed him and convinced that Natasha loves him too, Rajesh and Kaushal (Vishal Malhotra) go to the old abandoned drive-in – their usual hang out spot. At the drive-in Rajesh decides that he will propose to Natasha at dinner the following night. Heartbroken as Natasha rejects him saying she only thought of him as her best friend, teary eyed, Rajesh is back at the old drive-in sobbing away. Convinced that God forgot to pair Rajesh with someone who would love him here on Earth, there is lightning and literally drops from the sky Tara (Jacqueline Fernandez) straight into Rajesh’s arms. Tara wakes up in Rajesh’s room eyeing everything strangely, when she stumbles upon the TV remote and copies out all the moves on the different channels. Then Rajesh and Kaushal enter the room and try to ask her who she is. Thinking she is deaf as she doesn’t reply, they try numerous ways to get her to say something, concluding that she is bother deaf and mute, she points out to the stars in the sky and the boys unknowingly name her Tara (meaning star). In the hope that she remembers who she is or anything, they take her back to the drive in where Rajesh found her. And she shows them her plane/UFO, which she came to Earth in. Both the boys faint from shock of what they’ve seen. As soon as they wake up, they are shocked to realize that she is an alien. And she shows them how she learnt everything Rajesh and Kaushal know just by touching their heads. And she tells them she has come to Earth to learn what they have forgotten in Venus – to love. She asks him that she learnt everything he knows, but she couldn’t learn about love. He says that love isn’t in the mind, it’s in the heart, and after a few attempts at trying to explain to her what love is, she says it is confusing. Then she says that she has maximum 2 days to learn what love is and take it back to Venus with her and asks for Rajesh’s help in finding it. Then they use Tara’s “alien Google device” to find the most loved man in India – it’s Desh. And they set off to get Love! They come to the film set and a truck is about to hit Rajesh, which Tara stops and turns away to save Rajesh. Tara attempts to get Desh to fall in love with her just using her beauty, but he completely ignores her. So they try the introduction scene once again, where Desh comes walking towards Tara and she walks away paying no attention to him. While nobody is able to answer who she is or who the boys are, Desh finally notices them all. Desh tries to flirt with her and Tara gives him a smart reply. Enters Natasha once again who invites them to a pre-new years party with Desh. Back at home; Rajesh’s mother (Supriya Pilgaonkar) thinks she is going crazy because with Tara around the boys, the boys pretend as if there is no one, convincing Rajesh’s mother that she is going crazy. Desh and Natasha are having a conversation that they are both in love, Desh in love with Tara and Natasha realizing her love for Rajesh. Rajesh and Kaushal discuss trying to understand why Natasha is all of a sudden jealous, realizing that seeing Rajesh hang out with the girl who doesn’t care for Desh, makes Natasha jealous. Then Tara asks Rajesh if the reason he hasn’t found love is because he’s never played games before. Then Tara suggests that maybe he should do the same thing they are doing to Desh to do to Natasha so that Rajesh can find love too. Rajesh says that he doesn’t maybe because he hopes that there will be someone around who is exactly like him – a lost case in love. To sneak off to the party, Rajesh and Tara shrink themselves to avoid getting caught by Rajesh’s Dad (Satish Shah). At the party Tara has too much to drink and faints after which Rajesh brings her back home and she wakes up the next morning with a hangover. Desh calls her to ask if she will be his date to the new years party. Before Tara goes off back to Venus as planned after Desh falls in love with her after the new years party, Rajesh and Kaushal decide to show Tara the city for the day. While the trio are out to eat ice cream, Kaushal makes Tara realize that she really loves Rajesh and not Desh. Before going to the party, Tara asks Rajesh if Natasha is the special girl whom he loves and Rajesh asks Tara if Desh is the special boy who she loves and they both reluctantly reply yes. Tara freezes time and hugs Rajesh and recalls all their moments together. She unfreezes time and says I love you to him, he turns around, shocked but slowly realizing and just as he turns around to say I love you too back to her, she says April fool (the same thing that Rajesh did to Natasha, when he proposed to her). Convinced the other doesn’t love them, they go to party heavy hearted. At the party, while dancing with Desh, Tara freezes time and asks to dance one last time with Rajesh. Desh takes her away and realizes that she doesn’t love him, while on the dance floor Rajesh tells Natasha that he doesn’t love her. Rajesh comes to find Tara, to learn from Desh she has already gone, so they reach the drive in just in time to stop Tara from boarding her spaceship back to Venus. At the drive in, Rajesh and Tara both accept their love for each other. Just then from the spaceship comes Tara’s sister (Amrita Rao) and Kaushal falls in love with her right away, so she takes him back to Venus with her. And Tara and Rajesh get married to each other and even have a baby boy and everyone lives happily ever after!
