In this section provide a history of the sport. Include a chronology of key dates and events in the sport. Where is its birthplace? How did the sport evolve? Did/does it hold cultural importance in the country/part of the world where it is played?

In this section provide an overview of the sport before, during and after its professionalization. Why did the sport become professional? What factors influenced the commercialization of the sport both at during the early stages of commercialization and during the ongoing growth of the professional form of the sport? What other information can you provide to ensure the Reader understands the evolution of the sport from its unprofessional early beginnings to professional modern day?

Competition Forum == Explain the current competitive structure of the sport. Where is it played? How many teams/athletes participate at a professional level? What is the competition format? Include as many details as possible to ensure the Reader understands how this professional sport is played.

In this section explain the league/association structure and operation. How is the professional sport managed? Is it a league, an association or another type of structure? Are there multiple levels of professional competition? Who are the past/present key actors who govern the sport?

Identify the labour pool for the sport? Where does the professional sport draw its talent? Is the labour organized - if yes then how is the labour organized? – if no then why is there no organized labour in the sport? What demographics do the professional athletes represent? Provide historical and current details about player/athlete income.

Identify and explain key problems the sport has faced since it professionalized. The problems may include both past and present challenges. Have there been controversies in the sport? If yes what are/were these issues and why did they emerge (what were the causes of the problem)? What was the impact of these problems upon the professional sport and other forms of the sport (amateur, youth, recreation, etc.) If no – why not? The issues may be ethical, economic, social, cultural, legal, political, or other. In some instances the controversies or scandals within the sport may be openly addressed by key actors, or publicly addressed by media. However, in other cases the problems facing the sport may be an 'elephant in the room" - that is - problems exist and pose a barrier to the growth and success of the professional sport, but are unspoken and rarely addressed by key actors.
